Business ethics
Ensuring exemplary business conduct
How can we make Fnac Darty a model company in terms of business conduct and reinforce good practices within the Group? Fnac Darty is committed to ensuring greater protection of the personal data of its employees and customers, and is taking action to prevent the risks of corruption. The implementation of an oversight plan and the conduct of a responsible tax policy are also at the heart of its action.
In addition, Fnac Darty implements procedures that are monitored by the internal audit department, and whose quality and appropriateness to the various changes in the business environment are studied by an ethics committee.
Ethical whistleblowing and compliance platform
The Group has set up a whistleblowing system developed by WhistleB, an independent company, so that its customers, service providers and employees can report, in complete confidentiality and confidence, any serious doubts they may have about a fact or situation encountered.

Protecting the personal data of our employees and customers
With millions of visitors each month to its shopping sites, and nearly 10 million members, the protection of personal data is at the heart of Fnac Darty’s challenges.
The protection of customer data involves ensuring greater transparency in the use of data collected by the brands as well as legitimate, proportionate and secure use. Customer confidence – which is essential for the Group – necessarily involves enhanced protection of their data, but also that of Fnac Darty employees.
For the latter, the Group has also continued to work actively in all its businesses to improve its processes in order to ensure, in an increasingly transparent way, that its employees have greater control over their data.
Preventing the risk of corruption
Fnac Darty relies on external partners to provide its customers with the best possible product and service offering. With these partnerships comes a great responsibility to ensure that everyone’s rights and the Group’s ethical principles are respected by all.
In order to prevent corruption and other behaviors contrary to business integrity, the Group has put in place:
— a Code of Business Conduct, updated in 2020;
— a Gifts and Benefits Charter and awareness-raising on the risk of conflicts of interest;
— a regular assessment of corruption risks;
— a secure whistleblowing mechanism, accessible to all.
Implementing the oversight plan
Since 2018, the Group has published an annual Oversight Plan based on a mapping of risks covering all its activities and those of its direct suppliers. This map specifically targets serious violations of human rights, fundamental freedoms, the health and safety of all its stakeholders, as well as environmental degradation resulting from the Group’s activities and its value chain. These risks, which are identified through extensive internal and external consultation, are then assessed and action plans are put in place and reviewed twice a year.
In 2020, the mapping of risks was extended to Nature & Découvertes and the European subsidiaries, where dedicated representatives were appointed. In order to involve employee representatives in this oversight process, a special working group was set up with elected representatives from each country.
